SchoolSafe Kenya Foundation — students walking safely at school
SchoolSafe Kenya Foundation

Every Child Deserves
a Safe School.

Thousands of schools across Kenya have no fire extinguisher, no evacuation plan, and no trained staff. When something goes wrong, children pay the price. We are changing that — one school at a time.

The Reality

Children are dying in fires
that could have been prevented.

Kenya has 47 counties. Thousands of schools. Many of them — especially in rural and low-income communities — operate without a single working fire extinguisher, a posted evacuation route, or a member of staff trained to respond to an emergency.

It is not negligence. It is poverty. Schools that can barely afford textbooks cannot afford safety equipment. And so every term, children sit in classrooms where the difference between life and death is whether someone happens to know what to do.

That is unacceptable. And it is fixable.

What We Do

We sponsor schools that can't sponsor themselves.

The Foundation funds a complete safety package for under-resourced schools — everything needed to protect children, at no cost to the school.

Fire Safety Equipment

We supply and install fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and emergency signage — the physical tools schools need to prevent and respond to fires.

Evacuation Planning

Every sponsored school receives a custom evacuation plan with mapped routes, designated assembly points, and printed signage installed throughout the building.

Staff & Student Training

Our certified trainers visit each school to deliver hands-on fire safety and emergency response training — for teachers, support staff, and student safety marshals.
